Mary Kate has a direct style, focusing on helping clients develop the DBT skills while understanding the factors that make implementation challenging.
She has worked with adolescents and adults from various walks of life and values each client’s unique life story. Mary Kate teaches DBT skills to help them cope more effectively with difficult moments. She also challenges clients to work towards goals that truly matter to them.
Mary Kate received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Birmingham Southern College and her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College. With both case management and counseling experience, Mary Kate is well placed to balance the emotional processing and the practical skill-building needed for everyday life. One of her natural strengths is that she enjoys implementing hands-on, innovative, and creative methods for teaching DBT skills to make groups not only beneficial but enjoyable for clients.
